Occupational Therapists – Tori Sharratt & Lisa Robarts

Tori Sharrat

I qualified as an Occupational Therapist at Stellenbosch University in 1994 and am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. I have been working as an Occupational Therapist since I qualified and have worked in various hospitals and schools in the Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and the United Kingdom. Most of my work experience has been in the following fields:

  • Life skills training and counseling in various mental health facilities.
  • Medico-legal assessments.
  • The treatment of babies with sensory integration difficulties.
  • The treatment of young children (ages 4 to 10) with sensory integration difficulties, developmental delays, and learning difficulties.

I have completed post graduate qualifications in Sensory Integration and Neuro Developmental Techniques.

I have a special interest in mental health. I am a certified life coach. I have worked as the School Counselor at Virginia Preparatory School from 2012 to 2023. I consult part time at Beachmed. I also carry out Medico-Legal assessments. 

I am married and am the mother of two daughters.

Lisa Robarts

Lisa Robarts née Springer, graduated as an Occupational Therapist at the University of Cape Town in 2012. After completing her community service in Sabie, Mpumalanga, she spent 5 years working in some of the most renowned Trauma Hospitals in London, mostly in neuro-rehabilitation. Upon moving back to South Africa, she completed her Hand Therapy Diploma, with distinction, in 2019, through the University of Pretoria.

Lisa has loved being back in South Africa and has been enthusiastically focusing on neuro-rehabilitation and hand therapy in Durban. With over 10 years experience, she is very passionate about seeing her patient’s return to previously enjoyed sports, leisure activities and work. 

Main areas of focus:

  • Neurological Rehabilitation (for example, strokes, dementia, multiple sclerosis etc)
  • Hand Rehabilitation (following fractures, tendon or nerve injury, arthritis, sports or over-use injuries etc)
  • Functional Capacity Evaluations for those with an injury or disability who may or may not be able to return to work
