I qualified as an Occupational Therapist at Stellenbosch University in 1994 and am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. I have been working as an Occupational Therapist since I qualified and have worked in various hospitals and schools in the Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and the United Kingdom. Most of my work experience has been in the following fields:
- Life skills training in various mental health facilities.
- Medico-legal assessments.
- The treatment of babies with sensory integration difficulties.
- The treatment of young children (ages 4 to 10) with sensory integration difficulties, developmental delays, and learning difficulties.
I have completed post graduate qualifications in Sensory Integration and Neuro Developmental Techniques.
I have a special interest in mental health. I am currently based in a local school where I see children for life skills training and counselling. I consult part time at Beachmed. I also carry out Medico-Legal assessments.
I am married and am the mother of two girls.
